The public farewell, part of a larger procession through his home city, became a powerful tribute to the man who put Birmingham on the global music map.
A “Dignified” Farewell for a Working-Class Hero
Ozzy’s funeral cortege made a poignant stop at the Black Sabbath Bridge, a landmark that has become a shrine for fans since his passing. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, and their children, Jack, Kelly, and Aimee, were seen laying flowers and viewing the countless tributes left by fans, including handwritten messages, memorabilia, and bottles of Jack Daniel’s.
The bridge, which features a steel bench etched with the likenesses of all four original Black Sabbath members, was a fitting location for the emotional ceremony. The family was visibly moved by the outpouring of love, with Sharon Osbourne wiping away tears as she offered a peace sign to the cheering crowds.
