Rolls-Royce ‘Oasis moment’ in Plymouth’s Tinside was nod to another rock legend

Rolls-Royce has recreated a legendary rock ‘n’ roll moment at Tinside Lido to commemorate 100 years of Phantom, the firm’s “pinnacle motor car”.

The stunt captured the attention of the city last week when a Rolls-Royce Phantom was lowered into the lido. Many people speculated that the stunt was linked to Oasis, who sank a Rolls Royce in a pool for their Be Here Now album cover, which was released on August 21, 1997.
