Francis Bourgeois leaves Grand Tour fans saying same thing about trainspotter

The 26-year-old star, is now fronting Prime Video hit motoring series The Grand Tour, alongside  YouTube Throttle House presenters and renowned petrol heads Thomas Holland and James Engelsman.

The trio have replaced veteran stars and former BBC Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

Not only did Francis’ enthusiasm win fans over, the host’s solid knowledge base, impressive driving skills while drag racing in Malaysia, and attention to detail during some of the challenges.

He also worked as an engineer for Rolls Royce and studied mechanical engineering at university.

A second commented: “I’m with you. I actually got happy tears at the happiness of that Evan’s and Bourgeois Train chasing video. Just amazing.” A third noted: “The genuine excitement he got when he saw the class 50’s they’d be riding in was infectious.”

Yet a fourth person said: “I thought that was a very organic way to incorporate his love of trains into the show as well.” As another noted: “The genius here is taking proven chemistry (throttle house) and mixing it with passion (bourgeois) instead of picking 3 well known people and cramming them into the formula of Top Gear

The original presenters gave the new hosts their blessing, with Jeremy confiding to the camera that the new series was “very good” and he thought fans would like it. Additionally, Jeremy, Richard and James cropped up in the new series, showing their support for the newcomers.

Prime Video dropped season seven of The Grand Tour in its entirety last week and many have been binging the new episodes over the weekend. The new series features a similar humour to the original as the trio test out various cars.
